We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing legal team. The legal operations manager will work closely with the Head of Legal and business stakeholders at all levels of the company. As our Legal Operations Lead, you will be key in creating processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team, facilitate change, and control costs.

This is a generalist role that involves managing and supporting projects across the full range of subject matter supported by the legal team. You must be able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, and must be proactive in identifying areas of need and generating action plans.

You'll work closely with our Head of Legal to ensure delivery of the Legal team's goals. You will also act as a liaison between the Legal team and the rest of My Tutor’s other Operations teams, as well as Product, Sales and Marketing.

What you can expect:

  • To lead on the setup and implementation of Iron Clad platform or other case management system, including owning and designing the contract management process. Project manage the company-wide launch and organise onboarding for relevant stakeholders
  • Own and lead on day-to-day contract management, legal operations and other processes which fall under Legal.
  • Identify and implement other legal department tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as managing design, rollout, and training for new systems
  • Defining, owning, and reporting on leading and lagging KPIs to monitor our legal team's performance and provide insight to the team that will better inform decision-making, including matter and work product analyses
  • Building and optimising scalable processes to enable the legal team and wider business to accommodate further growth
  • Taking ownership of our tools: from shortlisting, through to implementation, to ensure scalability is achieved for My Tutor’s legal operations as we expand into new markets
  • Exploring and defining which projects the legal team should prioritise, and setting a timeline to reach goals quickly
  • Proactively searching for new features to provide a seamless legal service to other parts of the business
  • Determining root causes for bottlenecks in our internal legal processes and recommending and implementing solutions
  • Helping track and manage legal spend across a variety of areas. Assisting with budget matters, forecasting future departmental needs and monitor internal and external resource performance
  • Developing detailed documentation for internal processes and identifying areas where efficiency gains can be made

The type of person we would love to meet:

  • 3 years + experience with business and operational analysis, ideally gained within the Tech, Finance or Legal sectors
  • Proven track record of collaborating across teams (Products, Sales, Marketing) to set objectives and produce meaningful results
  • A degree from a top university with a strong academic record
  • Experience within the legal sector or a tech start-up is essential
  • Experience with Ironclad preferred
  • Data production and manipulation is the base for everything you do; you are an expert in Excel
  • You love tech and tools, and love exploring how they can contribute to efficiency and customer experience
  • You enjoy project management
  • You thrive on operational efficiency

  • Flexible working culture with access to our London HQ, global co-working spaces and home office setup
  • Investment in your learning with a personal L&D budget of up to £350
  • Workplace pension
  • Range up to £45000
  • Private Healthcare option through BUPA
  • Enhanced parent policies
  • Cycle, tech and gym schemes
  • Mentor/mentee scheme
  • Regular team events & socials (we've had a remote Sofar Sounds gig and wine tasting!)
  • 25 days holiday (plus public holidays)
  • A culture that champions wellbeing with workshops and 1:1 coaching
