Senior Legal & Contract Manager
To provide professional legal advice and contract support to Maximus UK businesses in relation to Business Development, Procurement and Sales and general business activity.
Non London: £60,000 - £65,000
London: £65,000 - £70,000
Essential Job Duties
•To support (as required) all business areas in relation to contractual reviews for new client opportunities and for renewals, extensions, variations of existing contracts.
•Support procurement as appropriate with the negotiation and drafting of supplier contracts
•Manage post-contract contractual issues in a timely and efficient way.
•Work with the Data Protection Team in managing data protection issues.
•Work with Legal Director in managing contractual disputes/litigations/employment relations issues
•Review incoming requests for tenders and identify legal issues
•Answer queries from business development, management, finance and other internal and external stakeholders and respond in a timely and professional manner
•Assist in development and maintenance of company policies
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in commercial management or law or equivalent experience
•Considerable experience of negotiating and legal/contracts experience including post-contract issue management
•Demonstrable ability to consolidate operational and commercial feedback for incorporation into contracts.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and applications
•Proven experience in providing contract reviews and analysis to the business in relation to general contractual matters including potential or actual disputes
•Graduate / equivalent qualified – preferably law degree or graduate diploma in law
•Well organised, assertive and able to prioritise workload in line with personal and departmental objectives and deadlines
•Strong communication skills, team working, approachable and persuasive
•A provider of clear, authoritative and commercially aware advice.
•Detailed and analytical approach.
•A positive "can do" attitude and a supportive team player
•Probing and enquiring mind, prepared to challenge information received and assess its impact
•Proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
•Comfortable with travel across the UK to support the leadership teams and businesses where and when needed.
•Willingness to share skills and experience with other members of the team and support where required in technical upskilling particularly in drafting and contract analysis
•Fluent in spoken and written English
