Reporting to the Group General Counsel, the Legal Operations Analyst will be a member of the L.E.K. in-house legal team. The incumbent carries out responsibilities within Legal’s operations management function, including, but not limited to: managing Legal’s LegalTech programs, integrations, and projects; managing various global legal data and analytics tools, and running reports on key metrics for senior L.E.K. staff and stakeholders; assisting the Global Legal Operations Manager with key programs across Legal’s operations function; and, assisting other staff on legal, compliance, risk and governance tactical and strategic workstreams. The Legal Operations Analyst must be an agile and out-of-the-box thinker who can problem solve complex legal, technological, and business issues. This role will require a strong technological and data analytical acumen.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the firm’s conflicts management system, which includes working cross-functionally with IT and global Legal, as well as end-users to ensure the platform operates smoothly, and always maintains an outstanding user experience.
  • Manage the legal side of the conflicts management knowledge base, including updating training materials, as well as user and standards guides, to ensure end-users are equipped with current references. Work with key IT stakeholders and the global IT helpdesk to ensure their knowledge base materials remain current, as well.
  • Manage the firm’s contracts management system.
  • Project manage engagements with LegalTech vendors for proof-of-concept projects, full builds, enhancements, integrations, and updates. Manage the entire L.E.K. project management lifecycle for such projects when they occur.
  • Stay current on suggestive updates to key LegalTech systems, and report back to senior Legal staff on such recommendations.
  • Manage trainings for L.E.K. staff on LegalTech solutions.
  • Manage the global Legal data analytics program, including overseeing various quarterly and annual trackers, coordinating with Legal staff to submit appropriate data for audits, and running analytical dashboards, such as Tableau, for auditing and metrics reporting purposes.
  • Assist the Legal team with various conflicts and contracts management functions, such as assisting with the firm’s third-party non-reliance processes.
  • Assist the Global Legal Operations Manager with conflicts and contracts-related data entry.
  • Assist with other legal, compliance, risk and governance tactical and strategic projects, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, with an accomplished academic record, from a top, accredited university. An active PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other project management certification is highly preferred.
  • 2-4 years of progressive legal and/or business operations, project management, or related experience, preferably within a professional services firm, or similar environment. Experience working with advanced technology and data is strongly preferrable.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully working with data and analytics workstreams.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A detail-oriented person, who exercises excellent judgement and professionalism, and thinks creatively and critically.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, appropriately escalating issues when needed.
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment, with a good sense of emotional intelligence, as well as a dynamic personality, to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, incorporating outstanding organizational skills and flexibility, to prioritize work and deliver the maximum business value.
  • A strong business and technology acumen.
  • Familiarity and comfort with legal technology solutions, including contracts and conflicts management platforms.
