A Sales Engineer at Litera works side by side with the sales team on the front line in support of positioning the value of Litera products, demonstrating possibilities, and winning new business. Sales Engineers listen and ask questions seeking to understand how our solutions can address challenges faced by customers and their end users, and tailor demonstrations to showcase how we do address their business needs and drive outcomes. Sales Engineers are sought after technical, subject matter experts who deliver advice throughout the sales process. They are also uniquely positioned to provide insights back to the business on market trends and go-to-market opportunities which help inform our product strategy, positioning, and big picture direction. Travel is required to attend meetings and or conferences face-to-face and often seen as one of the perks in the role.

A Day in the Life:

A Sales Engineer delivers both in person and virtual to-the-point, specific product demonstrations. They translate tech-speak into value-based discussions for c-level executives, influencers, end user advocates, and others and often dive in technically to inform as needed. Sales Engineers manage top-tier customer evaluations ensuring they lead to a successful outcome. Sales Engineers also develop a collection of customer stories which they leverage from experience, as well share back with others on our customer facing teams for their ongoing professional development. A Sales Engineer is key is transitioning from the pre-sales process to post-sale delivery to ensure a seamless experience for our customers and long-term success. The team is always looking for ways to deepen their knowledge of the market, our products, and what matters most to our customers.

Role Progression:

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Complete new hire onboarding including eLearning courses, instructor led training, role specific mentorship, and more
  • Meet with key stakeholders across the business that you will interact with frequently
  • Learn our products and become certified on how to demonstrate their value
  • Shadow customer meetings as a learning experience
  • Begin leading first-level presentations independently 

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Deliver customer presentations
  • Confidently overcome primary objections
  • Continue to build and expand relationships throughout the company
  • Meet with customers in person
  • Be able to demonstrate the full suite of products

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Become a trusted advisor and subject matter expert
  • Provide guidance to customers on how to maximize the value our solutions for their business
  • Provide advice in product council and others business forums
  • Lead strategic discussions to help align our solutions to our customers’ business needs
  • Present as a SME at different customer, partner, and user forums
  • Participate in bi-annual performance review process
  • Be challenged and encouraged to broaden your skills

Qualifications:

  • Highly adaptable, quick thinker and inquisitive
  • Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to teach and tell a story in a concise way
  • Technically competent with curiosity and passion for ongoing learning
  • Ability to listen, empathize, and translate tech-speak into value-based discussions
  • A keen attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to manage several moving pieces and parts
  • 2+ years of experience working in a software sales support capacity.
  • Advanced knowledge in Office, Exchange, and Industry environments to accurately speak and relate to concerns, needs, and requirements
  • Technically competent and the ability to quickly adapt to technology changes
