Stout seeks a full-time Analyst/Associate to join its Legal Management Consulting team.

Our team assists corporate legal departments and law firms manage their business more effectively. We work with legal organizations, IT, business partners, and vendors to contain risk and cost through operational improvement, efficient data management, and technology usage. We serve both as advisors and as experienced, scalable hands-on resources.

This role’s primary focus is to serve as a business analyst working in teams of typically 2-5 consultants while playing an active role in all aspects of client engagement. Analysts work at the direction of Associates and Managers, as well as senior leadership of the group, and receive frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their team. Analysts have significant opportunities for growth and advancement across Stout’s practice groups and offices.


The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient resource with strong technical, analytical, business, and project management skills, as well as confidence and polish in verbal communications.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop client-facing deliverables and perform associated quality control
  • Participate in client interviews, workshops, and presentations
  • Take detailed, action oriented notes
  • Gather, analyze, and format information
  • Assist in formulating and testing findings
  • Aid in developing recommendations
  • Administer system testing, track defects, and collaborate with technology providers and clients to resolve defects (on technology related projects)
  • Communicate effectively with clients in-person and via email and phone
  • Become proficient in specific legal technology related to active projects
  • Conduct research on client industries, legal technology, and legal industry trends
  • Assist with management of project scope, schedules, workplans, timelines, and budgets
  • Assist in business development efforts such as proposals, workplans, and presentations
  • Seek opportunities to proactively contribute to the growth and development of the Legal Management Consulting team

  • Interest in and desire to learn about law department, litigation management, and discovery processes and related technology (prior knowledge a plus)
  • Willingness to travel


Education and/or Training:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree necessary with an emphasis or interest in finance, accounting, business, legal studies, engineering, management information systems, or computer science
  • 0-3+ years of relevant experience in the legal or consulting industry
  • Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting
  • Relevant internship experience

Work Location:

Work location is flexible if approved by the company except that position may not be performed remotely from Colorado.
