This role is to support practice groups in all areas of LPM and Legal Tech, helping to promote, support and apply tools and project management techniques across multiple areas. It is the role of the LPM & LegalTech Advisor to understand the requirements of the matter by working with the matter team and to make a judgement on what level of support should be provided. This role will involve some financial expertise to support the more detailed financial aspects of Project Management i.e. pricing and drivers of matter profitability.

In addition, the role will focus on delivery of Legal Technologies across the region where capacity allows. This is a business-facing role and as such, proven stakeholder management and communication skills are of critical importance. This role must ensure projects and tasks are completed accurately, on time and to the ultimate clients’ satisfaction; and to deliver optimal client and commercial benefit in line with the Firm’s efficiency drive.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Project Management

  • Work to identify matters that could benefit from project management support
  • Provide LPM support on matters in line with the legal project management service offering. This could include the following:
  • Preparing, maintaining and tracking against project plans and cost estimates
  • Supporting matter-level resource management
  • Establishing and managing processes related to matter coordination and financial management
  • Advising on opportunities for matter efficiency
  • Management and coordination of client deliverables or legal product lifecycle
  • Analysis of matter financial information
  • Supporting matter closure and deal debriefs
  • Identify opportunities for improvements within matters and share knowledge in relation to the same
  • Develop and maintain best practice project management guidance, working with other Project Managers within the firm to share best practice, discuss any challenges or issues and innovate producing new tools and ways of working
  • Support development of Matter Management training that is delivered to our Managing Associates and Associates to ensure that it reflects best practice project management techniques and that we are promoting a consistent message
  • Endeavour to give the best client service possible, delivering value and delivering on time are key to ensuring the Partners talk positively about the service
  • Gather feedback from Partners and Matter Managers and take actions to improve areas of development
  • Provide input into client pitches or support conversations with clients from a project management perspective as directed by line manager
  • Work to raise awareness of the firm’s Project Management capability both internally and externally (where required)

LegalTech Product Delivery

Assist with the successful implementation and delivery of LegalTech solutions, including:

  • Ability to use and good working knowledge of platforms and supporting technology, including early case assessment solutions, e-discovery review platforms and electronic bundling platforms
  • Actively using the products that are part of the LegalTech portfolio on matters to deliver efficiencies
  • Regularly monitoring and reporting on product performance
  • To work with the LegalTech product leads to draw on their specialist knowledge when providing advice to the Practice and to determine the best tools for the matter.
  • Conduct training/presentations to the Practice, and its clients, on how to use the products and services and, more generally, work to raise awareness of the firm’s LegalTech capability
  • Working closely with the centre of excellence teams in the firm to ensure the right products and support models are in place to support the delivery of matters
  • Provide input into client pitches or support conversations with clients from a LegalTech perspective as directed by line manager

Training / Role Development

  • Seek out and attend training and development opportunities under guidance of line manager
  • Support upskilling of more junior team members through on-the-job coaching

  • In Singapore or Hong Kong
  • Travel in Asia where required (desirable)

Education / Qualification

  • Degree (or equivalent)
  • Prince II Practitioner/APMP/Six Sigma or other process improvement qualifications (desirable)


  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Practical Experience

  • Experience of delivering successful projects
  • Experience of working in a professional firm (desirable)
  • Experience working with ECA, eDiscovery and eBundling solutions (desirable)
  • Change management experience (desirable)

Office Skills

  • Strong working skills of MS office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power point etc.)
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong influencing ability
  • Confident presenter / trainer
  • Quality assurance and customer service experience
  • Experience of using Microsoft Project and other Project Management tools (desirable)

Commercial Skills

  • Good business acumen
  • Sound understanding of legal market and how matters are managed within the firm (desirable)
