Reporting to the Chief, Strategic Enterprise Initiatives, the Lead, Enterprise Knowledge Initiatives is a member of the Firm Legal Operations team, and will direct and support Firm-wide initiatives in connection with the Firm’s enterprise knowledge management, efficiency and transformation strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Chief, Strategic Enterprise Initiatives and other members of the Firm Legal Operations team, complete projects to realize strategic objectives from Firm-wide enterprise knowledge management (KM) and practice efficiency initiatives, including:

  • Regular consultation with Firm Legal Professionals to document requirements of the practice
  • Development and implementation of enhanced processes and practices, with a particular focus on user requirements
  • Assessment of technologies to support of these initiatives, with a particular focus on user requirements
  • Change management activities to support adoption of selected technologies
  • Collaborate with technology vendors, consultants and other external subject matter experts to realize the strategic objectives
  • Direct and support the development of processes, playbooks, checklists and any other resources related to enterprise KM and practice efficiency initiatives
  • Monitor developments in best practices and technologies relating to enterprise KM and practice efficiency
  • Collaborate with and support Information Services with its enterprise initiatives for the Firm as and when required
  • Collaborate with and provide support to other departments on Firm-wide initiatives as and when required
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the department
  • Contribute to other work of the Legal Operations team, as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

The position requires a university degree and minimum of three years of experience in a professional services firm, consulting practice or technology oriented business. Ideally the individual shall have a solid understanding of the legal profession, exposure to large law firm practices and knowledge of legal technology resources and trends, with exposure to enterprise level technology and systems. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.

Knowledge and Skill

  • To be successful in this position, the successful candidate must be solution-oriented and able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of legal technology resources and trends
  • Professional mannerisms for effectively communicating with legal professionals and client
  • Maturity to interact with senior members of the Firm, in order to earn their trust and confidence
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), focussed listening, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail, organization and time management skills along with the ability to balance daily work
  • Positive attitude, patience, resilience and a sense of humour
