The Legal Operations Manager is responsible for driving progress on Legal Operations and Technology roadmap initiatives focused on increasing efficiency and effectiveness for the Legal Team. This position will be responsible for the operational and technical functions of the Legal Team including management of key department processes, core contracting function, development and execution of technology and document management strategies, prudent management of internal resources and external counsel, and the strategic development and implementation of key performance metrics. 

What you’ll do

  • Assist in deriving business requirements as they relate to product functionality within the Legal team
  • Identify new applications and enhancements to existing applications to increase the productivity of the teams 
  • Execute of Legal Operations and Technology roadmap initiatives for the Legal teams processes and technology, both existing and prospective 
  • Coordinate closely with the cross functional teams to prioritize and track status of projects, tasks and timelines for deliverables ultimately to ensure stakeholder satisfaction 
  • Implement and optimize workflow automation, document and contract lifecycle management, IP management, deal management, business insights dashboard and the creation of structured legal data 
  • Build and maintain knowledge of critical upstream/downstream systems and workflows and lead process improvement initiatives with Legal stakeholders and cross-functionally 
  • Provide legal operations program support by identifying and executing high priority strategic and process improvement projects across Legal
  •  Lead the department’s knowledge management functions by developing and overseeing systems and technology for efficiently creating, storing, and sharing written material 
  • Reporting, analysis, dashboards. Support Management decision frameworks with reporting, analysis and dashboards  
  • Support all aspects of Contract Lifecycle Management  

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of experience in Legal Operations 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience building and implementing systems 
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to drive projects, identify and resolve legal and business issues, and earn confidence and cooperation of business partners 
  • Experience in the areas of project management, operations (general or legal), tech operations, solutions management, tech program management in-house or at a law firm.
  • Experience working with cloud-based and on-prem legal department technology solutions (e.g., deal management, e-billing, contract and document management, self service contracting, e-signature, knowledge management, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of breaking down complex processes and identifying key pain points and driving solutions to deliver business improvements at a global level
