We are looking for a well organised team player, with 3 years + experience working at a law firm to join our Content Team.

Your role

  • Reporting to the Content Manager, you will have a keen understanding of general legal practice
  • You will be responsible for automating and maintaining legal documents and precedent letters for many areas of law
  • The role includes researching, planning and designing content that lawyers will use to run their matters
  • You will be creating and automating legal forms and precedents by selecting and inserting fields in Word Documents and performing various tasks in our content building process


  • Identify and source legal forms and precedents
  • Identify what information needs to be inserted into forms and precedents to automate them
  • Keep informed about changes in the law, legal process or forms
  • Analyse and improve document automation
  • Analyse feedback from clients to refine automated documents


  • Assess, respond to and complete content-related support queries
  • Provide content support to our software trainers and helpdesk team
  • Establish and build positive relationships with our clients

Document automation and maintenance

  • Create and automate forms and precedents according to Smokeball/client specifications
  • Review and analyse our forms and precedents in terms of relevance, automation and use
  • Maintain our forms and precedents and ensure their relevance

About you

  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience working in the Legal industry
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of key parties, processes and documents used in areas of law such as (but not limited to): Family, Conveyancing, Estate Planning/Administration/Disputes, Commercial and Business, Litigation, Criminal, Immigration etc.
  • Experience in multiple practice areas will be viewed favourably
  • Experience in management or leadership roles will be viewed favourably
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills - particularly in relation to paragraph formatting, use of styles and tables
  • Attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive nature, who looks to find solutions to problems and not just a quick band aid fix
  • Patience, empathy, and integrity; approaching each situation with a fresh outlook and the client’s success in mind
  • Humility to ask questions, learn and improve
  • Ability to work collaboratively
