Job Description

Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing our marketing strategy across multiple channels. You will lead the go-to-market efforts to increase brand awareness and drive adoption of Alt Legal’s docketing software as the industry standard. This includes standardizing and preparing copy for email campaigns and sales collateral; managing our content creation and strategy; creating and optimizing search engine marketing and digital media ads campaigns; identifying sponsorship and partnership opportunities; ensuring the success of our participation at in-person and virtual industry events; facilitating sales; creating and analyzing reports to identify which marketing efforts are most successful; and conducting marketing research for future product development. We like to make data-driven decisions when data is available, so we are seeking someone with a knowledge of and passion for data and analysis. As the company’s VP of Marketing, you will manage our head of education and community, a content specialist, an external Wordpress developer, and other external contractors. You should be comfortable implementing and executing initiatives as well as delegating and managing projects. Your specific responsibilities:

  • Lead marketing initiatives and oversee future expansion of marketing organization
  • Coordinate with our VP of Global Sales and CEO to develop and execute our global marketing and growth strategy
  • Create a demand-generation engine using account-based marketing and other data-driven marketing techniques
  • Create a strong brand identity and awareness for Alt Legal as the industry standard for trademark docketing
  • Develop and maintain a consistent voice to be used in all marketing initiatives Position Alt Legal as the leader in relevant, quality content in the trademark space
  • Develop and report weekly and monthly KPIs Develop and execute strategies for product releases and updates
  • Oversee SEO efforts and manage SEM, digital campaigns, and social ads Ensure success at industry conferences, local events, and our customer conference Manage PR strategy in a niche vertical
  • Set social media strategy across LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram Implement a referral program for 1,000 customers and partners

What we’d like to see in the ideal candidate:

  • 5 years of relevant experience within a B2B SaaS product or demand generation role
  • Experience in legal tech or law firm marketing Startup experience Ability to recognize what they don’t know
  • Knowledge about and passion for metrics and data analysis Familiarity with Hubspot, Salesforce, Wordpress, and other marketing tools
  • Keen attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Good sense of humor
