Practice Innovation is increasingly being asked to explore innovative ways of delivery legal advice, including via decision trees in app format, and other digital decision-making tools. This role is to support the Lead Innovation Lawyer in those explorations by working with the practice (lawyers and PSLs) to develop proofs of concept and MVPs for internal and client use.

UK based, but able to provide global support.

Technological Proficiency

Elements of a legal engineer & legal technologist role at a paralegal level

Defining, developing and testing client-facing applications in a low/no-code solution

Digitising existing regulatory decision trees into low/no-code solutions

Coordinating the integration, configuration or further customisation of low/no-code solutions

Commercially Aware

Working closely with lawyers to map regulatory and other advice into decision trees for testing internally and with clients

Identifying and capturing product requirements for new solutions from lawyers and external clients and helping to create business cases.

Development of expertise

In collaboration with a Product Manager in Technology, develop a strong understanding of the platform(s), monitor evolving capabilities develop best practice guides and resources

Team Player

Perform duties in accordance with agreed instructions / procedures.

Report on work in progress and any service issues to Lead Innovation Lawyer.

Ability to work autonomously where necessary, with a proactive and confident approach.

Other attributes

Possesses an eagerness to see the job through to completion and displays strong communication, ownership and time management skills.

Sufficient gravitas and experience to work effectively with more senior colleagues including Partners, Managing Associates and Clients.


Ability to work within a pressurised environment 

Willingness to work long hours where there is the requirement to do so

Strong attention to detail (especially on time consuming and repetitive tasks)

Imaginative, highly motivated and driven to excel

Team player but able to work autonomously where necessary

Education / Qualification

Law degree or equivalent and LPC/BPTC or qualified lawyer


Fluent in English

Technology skills

Ability to think logically, decipher steps in a decision process and set out visually
